REGIONAL GOVERNOR ANNOUNCE EXECUTION OF THE PALCACOCHA MULTI-PURPOSE PROJECT
It was the announcement made by the regional governor of Áncash Koki Noriega within the framework of the ceremony of payment to water and the planting of quenuals in the Palcacocha lagoon area within the framework of the activities for World Water Day that was carried out with the presence of the Túpac Amaru Segundo peasant community from the Cojup ravine; the peasant community of Llaca and the authorities of the ANA, INAIGEM, UNASAM, UCV, EPS Chavín, DRAA, INDECI, RUA, the mayor of the Independencia district, Ladislao Cruz Villachica and the regional councilors of Huari, Víctor Pimentel and of Yungay, Daly Garcia; This last representative of the environmental affairs commission of the Ancash Regional Council
For her part, the natural resources manager of the Regional Government of Áncash, Marlene Rosario Guerrero, explained that the multipurpose project considers water consolidation in four strategic axes: water for human consumption, water for irrigation, recovery of ecosystems and reinforcement to reduce risks and disasters. "We are going to prepare the pre-investment studies for this important project in the following months so that before the end of this year we can deliver it to the corresponding entities for the preparation of the technical file for each strategic axis, hoping that by next year we can begin with its execution,” he assured.
In relation to forestry projects, Marlene Rosario Guerrero reported that projects for the provinces of Aija, Carhuaz-Ecash and Catac are already in the portfolio and that they will soon be implemented once the coordination with the beneficiary communities is completed.

Palcacocha is one of the 800 lagoons found in the Cordillera Blanca and is considered a symbol for the conservation of life due to its value for human consumption by the residents of the capital of the Ancash region.
